This impressive micro-lot is one of the first five lots of coffee from Burundi produced by the collaborative work of JNP Coffee and “Turihamwe Turashabora”, a small investors group composed of seven Burundian women. They own the wet mill in the Ngozi Province where these beans were produced and processed. JNP Coffee's business model is driven by quality coffee and is based on strong producer partnerships, sharing knowledge, promoting gender equality, and supporting education in financial literacy and leadership, all to empower the farmers and their families in Burundi. These superb beans were grown at 1,800 m.a.s.l, the cherries are sorted prior to the wet process and sun-dried in the shade, using a pyramid process for a constant and even drying on African raised beds. Double fermentation is used at the washing station, bringing out more brightness and clarity in these coffees.
