Cultivated on the plateaus of the Escambray mountain range in Guantanamo, where the mild climate and the frequency of rains form an ideal micro climate for growing coffee, coffee trees are grown under forest cover, in soil rich in mica, quartz, without any fertilizers. Once ripe, the cherries are carefully hand harvested by a small group of Cuban coffee farmers.
The strongly superior quality of these Cuban coffee beans very much reflects the rigorous control they undergo during processing.) Notes Cuban coffees have the reputation of being full-flavoured with low levels of acidity, just like our incredibly delicious Cuba Sierra Cristal coffee which is characterized by a rich flavour and delicate sweet aroma that provides a subtle hint of chocolate.
